I’ve been a soldier, salesman, and Head of Global Marketing for an organization BusinessWeek® ranked 5th in the world’s top communication companies and 118th in the world’s top 500 global organizations.

Along the way, I’ve launched healthcare products in Africa, lectured on branding in China, served as an advisory board member for a Google Lunar XPRIZE team, and founded a successful advertising agency. I’ve been a keynote speaker at the UK CEO Alliance in London, managed multi-million dollar brand upgrades, and created a marketing initiative with record crushing media ratings.

My roles have included: Rescue Swimmer, CMO for a digital marketing agency (ranked #3 in the USA), Expedition Leader, National Advertising Director for Australia’s second largest provider of domestic homes, consultant to an African government, and various other senior positions related to marketing and branding. I’ve also been fortunate enough to have been invited to lecture, speak, and share many of my experiences with audiences from all walks of life, and across all levels within organizations.

The big picture: Peter Drucker (the father of modern management) stated, “Because the purpose of business is to create a customer, it has only two basic functions: marketing and innovation. These produce results; the rest are costs. Marketing is the distinguishing, unique function of the business.” As branding is a vital element of marketing, understanding ‘the big picture’ helps achieve branding’s primary role of acquiring and retaining clients. Brand Marketers who factor this into their approach, provide way more than lovely logos and beautiful websites. I’m one of them!
